Like Sands Through The Hour Glass...
Did you guys ever watchDays of our Lives? Oh my gosh! When I was in high school, I used to literally run to my car at lunch so I could make it home in time to fix myself something to eat really fast, turn on the tv and watch Days. I heard the other day on the news that it's been on the air for like 40 years? (I'm not sure if that number is right, but I know I was astonished when I heard it.)
The site I linked to here has all the info on Days of Our Lives. (I can hear that announcer's voice right now: Like sands through the hour glass...so are the days of our lives. Wow, I'm excited just thinking about it.) You can register to become a member and get updates on the show, access to message boards, spoilers, pictures and a whole mess of other stuff.
Even if you don't register to become a member, you can still go to the site and get daily updates on what's going on with each of the characters. You know there are always plots within plots going on with that show! In the News Room, there is a new article today entitled: "Former DOOL Stars: Where Are They Now?". I love those where-are-they-now things. I can't help it.
Last, but definitely not least, you can also contact the administrators of the site easily from the link I posted here or you can go to the main page and click on "Contact Us.
Really cool. Days Of Our Lives brings back so many memories for me. Wow. I can't even describe it. It's like it was intertwined with my life during high school. You know like they say "music is the soundtrack of your life"? For me, it meant that much. I know it's only a tv show, but whatever you can connect with good memories is just...good.

Hey A,
I'm amazed at the ironies that I come across in blogland. The internet is open to millions (or is it billions), yet I read this and forget that so is TV.
I never watched a soap in h.s. nor in college. In fact, I was "philosophically opposed" to them, but didn't march or anything about that.
However, post-college I had a horrid case of the flu back to back (or one was some other nameless virus.) Point is, I had no books to read (and no internet in my early early 20's), so I was sooooooooo bored out of my gourd that I flipped on "Days." Well, I was sick enough that I became hookeed but by choice I must add :) on the show.
GEM and I saved for a video recorder. (It wasn't one of the wedding presents like some lucky peeps get...)We saved for it for other reasons, not for me to watch a taped soap. Probably was for him to watch his football game later if I dragged him to a free theatre performance that occurred at the same time.
For a few years (about 2), I taped every episode I missed and watched it after work. Your post brings back nice memories. I've not watched "Days" since about a year after our first daughter was born and she's a teen now. The other day, I caught a glimpse of the show and was shocked and laughed at how the characters had grown up.
I'm not interested in watching it anymore other than a wee bit of curiosity, but I'm glad you found the site and are happy about it.
P.S. I don't watch much TV, but the shows I like, I sure wish had not been cancelled. (Like "American Dreams" I can't even watch re-runs because I don't have HBO or cable like you do and like you, cannot afford to buy DVD's of tv episodes.
